    • John Doe No. 1631  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Circuit Court for the City of St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri.  Obtained defense verdict in alleged HIV disclosure case.
    • Daniel Puz  v.  Allegheny County, Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.  Obtained defense verdict in civil rights action alleging inadequate provision of medical care to quadriplegic, incarcerated plaintiff.

    • Day  v.  County of Allegheny, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.  Obtained dismissal during trial of action alleging wrongful incarceration of plaintiff on brother’s arrest warrant.
    • Barnhart  v.  Allegheny County Prison Board, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Obtained defense verdict in trial of action alleging wrongful incarceration of plaintiff on a defective warrant. 
    • Skip’s Propeller Service  v.  General Motors Corporation, Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.  Obtained defense verdict in commercial claim related to supply of marine engines.
    • Lamar Advertising  v.  Belvetone System/Douglas Corteal, Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.  Successfully prosecuted commercial action on behalf of national media firm.
    • Satolli  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Obtained defense verdict in personal injury action arising out of phlebotomy draw.
    • Motylewski  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Court of Common Pleas of Lorain County, Ohio.  Obtained defense verdict in personal injury action arising out of phlebotomy draw.
    • Kenneth S. Thompson & Andrea Fox, h/w v. Bayerisch Motorenwerke AG, et al., Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Preliminary Objections granted dismissing foreign corporation from lawsuit on  jurisdictional grounds.
    • Dobmeier v. Howmedica, United States District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania.  Represented client to obtain dismissal of all claims against a manufacturer of a prosthetic implant.
    • Bock vs. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, United States District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania. Summary Judgment granted based upon plaintiffs’ failure to satisfy their proximate cause burden in a failure to warn lawsuit against prescription drugs.  Affirmed by United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. 
    • Evans vs. Quest Diagnostics, et al., Hamilton County, Ohio, 2017, Summary Judgment entered in favor of firm client based upon plaintiff’s failure to establish employment relationship with individual who committed criminal acts while providing medical services to patient.  Client also awarded Rule 11 Sanctions amounting to total legal fees expended in defense of case.
    • Fornalczyk vs. DENTSPLY International, et al., Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Obtained summary judgment in products liability action involving a medical device. 
    • Gross v. Stryker, United States District Court, Western District, Pennsylvania.  Obtained dismissal of claims based upon preemption under the Medical Device Amendments to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.  Reported at 858 F.Supp.2d 466 (2012).
    • Leonard v. Taro Pharmaceuticals, United States District Court, Western District, Pennsylvania.  Obtained favorable ruling dismissing strict liability claims against pharmaceutical manufacturer.  Available at 210 W.L. 4961647.
    • Krelic v. Mutual Pharmaceuticals, Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Obtained noteworthy dispositive ruling on novel issue involving “different manufacturer’s exception” in generic pharmaceutical failure to warn product liability action. Ruling reported statewide, “Judge Rules Generic, Brand-Name Drugs Must List Same Warnings” by Zack Needles, The Legal Intelligencer, May 2, 2013.  Also commented on by Drug and Device blog through May 2, 2013 posting.  www.druganddevicelaw.blogspot.com.
    • Thompson v. TRW, Court of Common Please of Allegheny County.  Successfully defended claims asserted against supplier of automotive airbags in product liability matter.
    • Day  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Wayne County, Michigan.  Obtained summary judgment in alleged negligent drug testing case.
    • Ackins  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Wayne County, Michigan.  Obtained dismissal in alleged negligent drug testing case.
    • Burkhart  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Erie County, Pennsylvania.  Obtained dismissal of claims alleging negligent clinical pathology testing.
    • Martin  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Mahoning County, Ohio.  Obtained summary judgment in alleged negligent drug testing case.
    • Veltri  v.  Clinical Laboratory, Washington, County, Pennsylvania.  Obtained summary judgment in alleged negligent drug testing case.
